Ulysses advised u.ventures on its investment in Esper Bionics as part of the startup’s US$5 million financing round, led by YZR Capital with co-investment from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The funds will drive the company’s R&D, accelerate production growth, and enhance its Bionic Ecosystem.
u.ventures is a U.S.-based venture capital fund established in 2017 by the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund. It invests in early-stage technology startups from Ukraine and Moldova with the ambition and potential to scale into global markets. Esper Bionics is a Ukrainian-founded developer of AI-powered bionic prosthetics, headquartered in New York (the USA), with research, design and production operations in Kyiv (Ukraine) and Berlin (Germany). Its flagship product, the Esper Hand, is a self-learning, AI-driven prosthetic hand; the company has also supplied more than 80 bionic hands to Ukrainian war veterans.
Our representation included drafting and negotiating the convertible promissory note, as well as advising on the legal aspects of the financing transaction. Ulysses’ project team was led by Partner Artem Nagdalian, with support from Senior Associates Bohdan Burlaka and Ruslan Yurchenko.
